    Flight operations at Calspan consist of a large portfolio of engineering, flight, and research activities. Headquartered in Niagara Falls, New York, Calspan’s Flight Research center is home to a fleet of aircraft that include Learjets, Gulfstream III, and a Premier. The Junior Aircraft Mechanic will support the Aerospace department located in Niagara Falls, New York.

    Responsibilities

    Description:

    • Assist in servicing and maintaining aircraft and ground support equipment.
    • Assist in the operation and maintenance of research systems installed in the aircraft.
    • Assist in the preflight and post flight inspections.
    • Assist in fabricating and installing special equipment in the aircraft.
    • Assist in the removal and installation of controls, electrical units, hydraulics, components, engines, and engine components,etc.
    • Assist in the repair and replacement of damaged or worn parts.
    • Assist in the operation of test equipment.
    • Responsible for mechanical soundness of aircraft.Responsible for tools, equipment, and material used while performing duties

    Qualifications

    Preferred Education / Experience:

    • High school graduate or equivalent
    • Formal aircraft mechanics trades training
    • Possess an FAA Airframe and Powerplant License required
    • 2 years experience in field

    Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

    • Required to adhere to procedures and requirements outlined in the official Flight Research Operations manual.
    • Ability to travel
