    Responsibilities

    • Manage the identification of new business opportunities for the Transportation, Transonic Wind Tunnel and Flight Operations groups. Work directly with major government agencies, OEM’s, automotive/aerospace companies and other commercial enterprises to demonstrate the value and expertise of Calspan.
    • Provide in-depth coaching and support to the sales function to ensure visibility, and brand reputation within the markets that Calspan serves.
    • Oversee the development and implementation of strategic sales and marketing plans that outline the direction and milestones of business development and marketing efforts for profitable growth.
    • Directly manage the designated core customer base from a retention and growth standpoint.
    • Participate in the development of project proposals and spend the necessary time with customers to present and document the value and identify new opportunities. Provide regular and accurate feedback for revenue/profit forecasts.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline; Master’s degree preferred (MBA/Engineering degree a plus).
    • 10+ years of senior management experience within a comparable business, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to above.
    • Demonstrated experience directing an engineering or research sales organization, preferably in the transportation or aerospace arena. Experience managing Government and commercial contracts
    • Proven track record of driving breakthrough business results.
    • Established network of industry connections related to transportation or aerospace.
    • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders; a persuasive negotiator able to achieve consensus amongst differing opinions.
