    The Tire Research Facility is a world leader in the indoor measurement of Force & Moment data on tires. With Customers including leading vehicle manufacturers, tire manufacturers and Motorsports organizations, Calspan is always improving and advancing the science. We are searching for a motivated Electrical Engineer to join our group. 


    • Maintain and improve controls and data acquisition systems in test laboratory. Including setup of instrumentation, programming in Matlab, Python, Labview, PLC. Manage Hardware/Software, to maintain and improve controls of test machine.
    • Work closely with staff and customers to develop innovative tire performance measurement and analysis methods. Implement new software processes for tire analysis/modeling and other data management efforts. Manage Hardware/Software selection, application and procurement to improve data production and maximize the fidelity and accuracy of all test data.
    • Support testing staff to ensure consistent and accurate data processing results. Work with customers on data format, transmission and review.
    • Work with customer on an as needed basis. Understand all facets of testing and be able to respond to specific customer requests in realtime.


    Preferred Education / Experience:

    • BS Electrical, Mechatronics, Automation, Systems or Controls Engineering
    • 3+ years in Engineering or related discipline or;
    • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

    Preferred Knowledge / Ability: 

    • Software development, data science, or controls experience
    • Technical Programming Background
    • Working Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
    • Clearly communicates with staff and customers
    • Goal oriented and efficient
