Overview

Calpsan/ACEnT in is an industry leader in the engineering and manufacture of complex aerospace hardware and prototype systems for ground test and flight applications. We are looking for a full time Aerospace Engineers to join our team in Ronkonkoma, NY. Our Aerospace Engineers lead and coordinate high speed propulsion system and related subsystem design, analysis, integration and test efforts for wind tunnel and flight hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support propulsion system design and analysis tasks using various classical methods and engineering codes/tools
  • Coordinate propulsion-related project activities between necessary disciplines
  • Provide regular project status to management team on propulsion system design and analysis tasks
  • Mentor young engineering staff on propulsion system and subsystem design and analysis
  • Lead and support customer status meetings and reviews for assigned projects

Qualifications

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • BS/MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in high speed airbreathing propulsion or similar industry
  • A combination of education and experience 

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Experience with design and analysis of ramjet and scramjet engines and related system design and analysis.
  • Familiarity with engineering analysis codes for engine flowpath, cycle analysis, and aero-thermal loads development required.
  • Ramjet/scramjet test experience, experience with high-speed vehicle design, propulsion integration and/or trajectory analysis and optimization codes a plus.
  • US citizenship required to obtain/maintain a DOD security clearance
