Electrical Engineer - Experimental Aircraft Operations

Headquartered in Niagara Falls, New York, Calspan’s Flight Research center is home to a fleet of aircraft that include Learjets, Gulfstream III, and a Premier. These aircraft are used for variable stability programs, flight equipment testing, and a variety of other projects for private and government organizations.  We are looking for multiple motivated Electrical Engineers to join our team and continue our rich tradition of modifying and flying test aircraft. 


Core Responsibilities Listed Below – Compensation and position level commensurate with education and experience.

  • Support execution of testing operations in accurate and efficient manner.

  • Support analysis of feasibility, design, operation and performance of electrical equipment systems.

  • Support the development of new applications and test procedures.

  • Maintain engineering data and/or drawings, which includes layouts, models and analyses.

  • Support the development of technical documentation including engineering plans, requirements definition, test procedures, installation design plans and related technical reports.

  • Provide guidance to technicians in fabrication, installation and operations of electrical and related equipment and systems.


Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Bachelors/Masters in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Electrical Engineering or related experience or a combination of education and experience  
  • Due to security requirements, US Citizenship is required. 

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Electrical/Electronic engineering methods
  • Perform basic analog and digital circuit design
  • Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and manage  abstract and concrete variables
  • Microsoft Office
