Calspan Business Park is a full-service commercial business park, centrally located across from the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport. Our premium location is home to both light industrial and Class A office space, offering tenants flexibility depending on their business needs. We are looking for a motivated Director, Facilities & Construction to join our team! This position ensures proper operation, management and maintenance of all building and ground functions, as well as, activity related to lease of company building.


  • Manage in alignment with our company values.  Lead with the intent to create a respectful and healthy work culture that embraces inclusion. Manage administrative responsibilities (scheduling, timekeeping, budgeting). Provide timely, constructive feedback regarding work and performance. Manage non-performing employees in accordance with company policy.  Manage high potential employees to career succession and growth opportunities.
  • Plan and direct facility management services including building and facility operating systems maintenance, repair and improvement and custodial services. Learn, train and master the facilities computerized maintenance management system.
  • Provide information regarding department budget; monitor budget expenditures; review requests for additional services; direct reallocation of funding to cover unprojected costs.
  • Participate in the development of project plans to include all construction projects and facilities services operations while working collaboratively with Senior Leadership and other relevant stakeholders. Plan, track and monitor project budget progress from project beginning to end.  Ensure projects are completed on budget and on schedule.
  • Manage tenant relations for Calspan Business Park. Maximize tenant occupancy in building.


Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in related discipline
  • 11-13+ years in related discipline
  • Previous experience in management positions or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management and ability to prioritize with attention to detail
  • Strong quantitative analysis, critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage diverse company initiatives and complex business issues
  • Proven ability to be resourceful in rapid changing environment
  • Experience with facilities, financial analysis, lease negotiations and contract management
  • Experience developing and maintaining relationships with developers, tenants, and vendors
  • Ability to travel to support project delivery
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and electronic facility maintenance software such as eMaintenance.
