Overview

Calspan Business Park is a full-service commercial business park, centrally located across from the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport. Our premium location is home to both light industrial and Class A office space, offering tenants flexibility depending on their business needs. We are looking for a motivated Senior Mechanical Technician to join our team! This position ensures proper operation, management and maintenance of all building and ground functions, as well as, activity related to lease of company building.

Responsibilities

  • Perform periodic mechanical maintenance on a variety of equipment. Service and troubleshoot complex HVAC Systems.  Perform annual assessment on all HVAC Equipment.
  • Diagnosis and troubleshoot chilled water systems both the chilled water and condenser water systems.  Leverage factory resources for troubleshooting (e.g., factory websites, tech support, etc.).
  • Conduct in-depth site surveys to identify mechanical and operating malfunctions within a facility.  Maintain full technical understanding of facility operations.
  • Inspect and perform equipment start-ups, repairs and replacements.  This includes but is not limited to: heating and air conditioning; Roof Top Units (RTU’s), Split Systems, Heat Pumps, Exhaust Fans, Boilers, and Coolers.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair accessory equipment as needed.
  • Perform all activities associated with work orders utilizing the eMaintence system.

Qualifications

License/Certification:

  • EPA Type II Certification

 

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Associates Degree in related field or completion of building trades courses
  • 3+ years in related discipline or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

 

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Ability to read Blueprints, HVAC Wiring and Piping Diagrams.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills to repair, maintain, and install HVAC and related equipment as Provide guidance, training, and support to less experienced Facilities Technician staff
  • Effectively operate seasonal equipment
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Able to follow workplace safety procedures, including machinery lock out, tag out and use of personal protective equipment
  • Able to perform job tasks outdoors in hot and cold conditions
  • Good communication skills to interact with tenants and coworkers
  • Knowledge of digital control systems
  • Available to respond to emergency calls as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs or up to 75lbs with assistance
