We are looking for a highly motivated Contracts/Sub Contracts Administrator to serve as lead of contracts administration including, but not limited to, preparation of proposals, contract negotiation, change orders and contract closeouts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals and customer correspondence. Review Purchase Orders provided by customers. Draft, negotiate and review terms and conditions applicable to orders and other services provided by Calspan, as well as miscellaneous agreements such as nondisclosure agreements and teaming agreements. Advise internal clients about contractual and other risks.
  • Provide contract and subcontract support for all departments, including both government and commercial programs. Provide assistance with strategy, management and compliance related to all contracts and subcontracts.
  • Manage and support export compliance initiatives. Analyze, interpret and apply U.S. export controls laws and regulations, including EAR, ITAR and OFAC. Prepare technical assistance agreements and license documentation. Manage import matters, review and negotiate powers of attorney related to imports, and liaise with company brokers and/or customer brokers as required.
  • Provide guidance and support related to applicable government regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS, etc.), security compliance and other management initiatives.
  • Support and advise assigned departments with commercial and other tasks – both internal (e.g., research projects, creating presentation materials, improvements to processes and procedures) and external (e.g., facilitating account collections efforts).

Qualifications

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Bachelors in related discipline
  • 5-7+ years in related discipline or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Experience with full life-cycle government and commercial contract management and contract types (CPFF, FFP, T&M, etc.)
  • Familiarity with government contracts, including Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
  • Working knowledge of U.S. Export Control and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
  • Excellent business judgment and verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail
  • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work well in a team setting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
