The Contracts Administrator serves as lead of contracts administration including preparation of proposals, contract finalization, internal project setup, invoicing of projects, and contract change orders.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals and customer correspondence. Review Purchase Orders provided by customers. Draft, negotiate and review terms and conditions applicable to orders and other services provided by Calspan. Advise internal clients about contractual and other risks.
  • Provide Contracts support for all departments, including both government and commercial programs. Provide assistance with strategy, management and compliance related to all contracts.
  • Manage and support export compliance initiatives. Analyze, interpret and apply U.S. export controls laws and regulations, including EAR, ITAR and OFAC. Manage import matters, review and negotiate powers of attorney related to imports, and liaise with company brokers and/or customer brokers as required.
  • Provide guidance and support related to applicable government regulations (e.g., FAR, DFARS, etc.), security compliance and other management initiatives.
  • Support and advise assigned departments with commercial and other tasks – both internal (e.g., research projects, creating presentation materials, improvements to processes and procedures) and external (e.g., facilitating account collections efforts, processing competitive contractor bids).

Qualifications

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Bachelors in related discipline
  • 3+ years in related discipline or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • General business and contract law
  • Government contracts
  • Understand short and long term Corporate goals and strategies
  • Corporate policies and procedures
  • Quality Management Systems
  • Customer Relationship Management software
  • Microsoft Office
