We are seeking a Mechanical Assembly Technician to be responsible for assembly of electrical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications.

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities Listed Below – Compensation and position level commensurate with education and experience.

  • Read, interpret and follow engineering drawings, diagrams, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble product.
  • Close tolerance mechanical adjusting, fitting and alignment to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards. Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified. Rework and/or repair assembled equipment.
  • Perform cutting, grinding, and material preparation per drawing or specification.
  • Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using precision measuring instruments.

Qualifications

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Associates degree in related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Ability to read blue prints and technical specifications.
  • Proficient with various handheld tools, drill presses, light fabrication tools, hose assembly equipment and torque wrenches.
  • Experience using overhead crane, forklift, material handling equipment.
  • Basic computer skills; materials management systems preferred.
  • Self-starter ability to work independently with little supervision..
  • Strong communication, organizational, time management, and basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem, produce a new concept and or idea.
