Calspan's Flight Operations Team is a full-service flight test organization housed in a state-of-the-art 80,000 sq. ft. hangar facility at the Niagara Falls, NY, International Airport (KIAG).  Our full-time team of experimental test pilots, engineers, mechanics, and technicians take our customers ideas to flight in one of our fleet of jet-powered airborne test beds. We are seeking an expereinced Technician to join our team full time. 

 

Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities Listed Below – Compensation and position level commensurate with education and experience.

  • Perform  inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and project installations and modifications to any Flight Research aircraft assigned to support.
  • Fabricate and/or modify electronic enclosures, panels, circuit boards and wire harnesses for Flight Research applications. Work quality shall be to the acceptable level for aircraft installations where applicable.
  • Support testing by efficiently operating equipment and ensuring accurate results and records. Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after testing.
  • Follow established quality assurance procedures with regard to all work performed on and associated with Flight Research aircraft.

Qualifications

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • AAS or Bachelors in related discipline
  • 3+ years in related discipline or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Understand Electrical and Electronic principles and theory
  • Read and interpret Engineering schematics and drawings
  • Use of soldering irons, hand and small power tools, measuring devices, and test equipment in performance of job duties
  • Perform test setup and execute test procedures for engineering, calibration, and data acquisition
  • Analyze and Troubleshoot electronic and electromechanical problems
  • Microsoft Office

The salary range provided is a general guideline. Actual pay will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and other applicable qualifications.  Calspan is committed to pay transparency in compliance with applicable state and local laws.
