2nd shift is scheduled Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM.

Responsibilities

This position provides technician support to testing and engineering by operating, troubleshooting, calibrating, and maintaining test equipment and performing basic circuitry design.

  • Support testing by efficiently operating equipment and ensuring accurate results and records. Provide technical assistance and resolution when electrical or engineering problems are encountered before, during, and after testing.

  • Support test equipment maintenance, installation, and repair to maximize operational availability.
  • Document test procedures and installations. Provide guidance with data calculation.

Qualifications

Preferred Knowledge & Skills:

  • Mechanical and Electrical Troubleshooting: Proficient in understanding, diagnosing, and resolving mechanical or electrical issues.
  • Test Operations: Experience executing moderately complex test procedures for engineering, scientific research, or real-time data acquisition.
  • Engineering Plans & Specifications: Ability to accurately read, interpret, and follow engineering plans and specifications.
  • Software Proficiency: Competent with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous in following test procedures, interpreting engineering specifications, and documenting results accurately.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple tasks and adjusting to evolving priorities.
  • Collaboration: Strong team player who works well with engineers, technicians, and cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Communication: Clear and effective communicator, capable of conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Time Management: Highly organized with the ability to manage schedules, meet deadlines, and deliver quality work under pressure.
  • Continuous Learning: Eagerness to stay updated with the latest technologies and industry best practices.

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Certification/education in related discipline
  • 5+ years in related discipline or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to the above

The salary range provided is a general guideline. Actual pay will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and other applicable qualifications.  Calspan is committed to pay transparency in compliance with applicable state and local laws.
