We are seeking an Engineering Validation Technician to ensure all products, processes, and quality records conform to quality standards per Calspan ASE specifications and customer expectations.  Responsible for maintaining a strong collaborative partnership with cross-functional team members that facilitates organizational success by meeting business needs.

Responsibilities

This position ensures all products, processes and quality records conform to quality standards per Calspan ASE specifications and customer expectations. This individual will be responsible for maintaining a strong collaborative partnership with cross-functional team members that facilitates organizational success by meeting business needs.

  • Work with Project Management and Engineering to satisfy overall objectives regarding technical performance, quality and schedule.  This includes making recommendations for change to improve product quality.
  • Inspect materials and products at various points in the process by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests. Communicate required adjustments and rejects/returns unacceptable materials.
  • Maintain positive and cooperative communications and collaboration withal levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.
  • Accountable for the oversight of the product quality systems, including SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Reports), NPRs (Nonconforming Product Reports), Deviations and Waivers.
  • Ensure work is done timely to meet production schedule.

Qualifications

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • AAS or BS in related discipline; electrical technology preferred
  • 3+ years in related discipline or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
  • ITAR required US Person
  • Travel 10-15% of the time - domestic & international

 Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Skilled at reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, schematics and computer-generated reports
  • Demonstrated knowledge of all types of precision inspection tools used in manufacturing and inspection processes (calipers, micrometers, height gages, PC’s, PLC’s)
  • Proficient with calibration systems requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem-solving ability
  • Electrical inspection background preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office tools and general familiarity with computer systems.
  • ISO and AS experience

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, climb ladders, and work in tight locations.

The salary range provided is a general guideline. Actual pay will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and other applicable qualifications.  Calspan is committed to pay transparency in compliance with applicable state and local laws.
