Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities Listed Below – Compensation and position level commensurate with education and experience.

 

This position is responsible for preparing and executing individual component and full scale vehicle crash tests. 

 

  • Perform Vehicle and test facility Setup. Instrument test vehicles and install high-speed cameras in accordance with customer requirements, standard test procedures and work instructions. Complete mechanical modifications and installations to test articles and equipment.
  • Document results through procedures, checklists. Create reports using MS Office Software.
  • Install Safety restraints on test vehicle
  • Operate, repair and diagnose HV Battery Systems on Electric Vehicles
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, data collection problems with test equipment and measurement devices.
  • Maintain, repair and upgrade test systems to maximize operational availability, and the fidelity and accuracy of all test data. Perform equipment calibration, and repairs.

Qualifications

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Automotive Technology Degree
  • ASE Certification A6 Highly Preferred
  • Autoshop experience a plus
  • 3+ years in related discipline or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability: 

  • Troubleshooting mechanical or electrical problems
  • Electrical and electronic principles
  • Perform operations and execute test procedures for engineering, scientific, or real-time data acquisition
  • Read and interpret engineering plans and specifications
  • Testing and inspection principles and procedures
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software

The salary range provided is a general guideline. Actual pay will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and other applicable qualifications.  Calspan is committed to pay transparency in compliance with applicable state and local laws.
