Calspan’s Automotive Crash Facility, located in Buffalo, NY, is recognized worldwide for its leadership in vehicle safety testing. With a mission to advance the science of crash testing, we’re seeking a motivated High Speed AV/Photograph Technician to set up and execute high-speed automotive crash test videos and photos.

Responsibilities

  • Capture live high-quality video/photos of each full vehicle automotive crash test. Conduct tests in accordance with customer requirements, standard test procedures and work instructions.
  • Prepare, configure, and install high-speed camera and video recording equipment within test vehicles for each event.
  • Process and manage post-crash video/photographs using specialized camera control and analysis software to ensure accurate and timely deliverables.
  • Inspect, test, and verify proper functionality of all camera systems and related equipment while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • AAS in related discipline
  • 3+ years in related discipline or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Prior audio visual experience; preferably with high speed video equipment and cameras
  • Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude preferred
  • Must be able to work assigned hours as required to meet customer testing needs – may include overtime, nights and weekends
  • Capable of climbing, bending, kneeling, crawling, and moving and installing equipment
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions and have effective communication skills
  • Must be responsive, efficient, have excellent customer interaction, and exhibit a high level of professionalism
  • Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, effectively handle multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
  • Experience with MS Office programs

The salary range provided is a general guideline. Actual pay will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and other applicable qualifications.  Calspan is committed to pay transparency in compliance with applicable state and local laws.
