Overview

Calspan is seeking a motivated and customer-focused IT Support Specialist to support daily operations by ensuring employees have reliable access to the technology and systems they need to succeed. This role is responsible for assisting users with the installation, configuration, and operation of software, computer hardware, and network systems.

 

The IT Support Specialist plays a key role in troubleshooting technical issues and helping integrate systems into IP-based networks. This position requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality support across the organization.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to internal end users to diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues. Respond to telephone calls, email, and personnel requests for technical support.  Maintain help desk log for all activities.
  • Instruct users in equipment, application and operating system functions, research and answer technical questions, and develop/update user manuals.
  • Perform and/or coordinate PC repair and maintenance with vendors; set up new or relocated computer equipment; maintain help desk logs; confer with vendor specialists to solve problems.
  • Remain current with system information, changes and updates. Confer with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.

Qualifications

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Associates in Computer Science or related discipline
  • 3+ years’ experience in an engineering setting or;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Computer hardware and software, including applications and programming
  • Deltek Costpoint
  • Microsoft Business Central/NAV
  • Microsoft Desktop & Server Technologies
  • Strong customer service focus

Salary Range (min)

USD $25.00/Hr.

Salary Range (max)

USD $29.00/Yr.
