Overview

 

Drive growth for Calspan’s Automotive Testing Services business by identifying new opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and expanding our presence across government agencies, OEMs, automotive manufacturers, and commercial organizations. This role partners closely with customers and internal teams to develop solutions, support proposal efforts, and execute strategic sales and marketing initiatives that deliver long-term business growth. Ideal candidates have a passion for the automotive industry, strong relationship-building skills, and an interest in business development, engineering, or automotive testing.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and close new business opportunities for the Test Operations groups. Work directly with major government agencies, OEM’s, automative companies and other commercial enterprises to demonstrate the value and expertise of Calspan.
  • Directly manage the designated core customer base from a retention and growth standpoint. Participate in the development of project proposals and spend the necessary time with customers to present and document the value and identify new opportunities. Develop strong working relationships with internal and external business partners.
  • Develop and relentlessly implement a strategic sales and marketing plan that clearly outlines the direction and milestones of our BD and marketing efforts for sustainable profitable growth that is alignment with our company strategic plan. Provide regular and accurate feedback for revenue/profit forecasts.
  • Professionally represent the company at various business conferences, trade shows and community events. Increase our visibility within the technical/lecture communities.

Qualifications

Preferred Education / Experience:

  • Bachelors/Masters in a business and/or engineering related discipline
  • 0-5 years in related discipline;
  • A combination of education and experience equivalent to above
  • Interest in business development in the automotive technology industry

Preferred Knowledge / Ability:

  • Crashworthiness test standards and protocols and Vehicle dynamics
  • Automotive testing
    • FMVSS test standards
    • NCAP protocols and test standards
    • Familiarity with IIHS test protocols and standards
    • Tire testing
  • Engineering principles, procedures and techniques
  • European and other foreign vehicle related test standards
  • Experience working with automotive manufacturer’s safety group
  • Previous experience in sales/ business development position or;

The salary range provided is a general guideline. Actual pay will depend on several factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and other applicable qualifications.  Calspan is committed to pay transparency in compliance with applicable state and local laws.

 

All candidates must be 18 years of age or older, and eligible to work in the United States without requiring now or in the future Visa Sponsorship.

USD $89,000.00/Yr.

Salary Range (max)

USD $110,000.00/Yr.
