Calspan has a 75-year legacy of providing unique aircraft modifications and flight test excellence to the aerospace industry, tracing its lineage all the way back to the Research and Development branch of the Curtiss-Wright Aircraft Corporation in the 1940’s. The Calspan name has been and continues to be synonymous with flight test excellence. Calspan’s reputation has been built on the shoulders of several generations of Calspan test pilots, engineers and maintainers who have modified and put Government and company-owned test aircraft equipped with state-of-the-art equipment through their paces in a quest to provide quality, meaningful, relevant, and timely data to our customers.
This is your opportunity to be a part of history. We’re looking for a creative problem solver that has a strong background in Computer or Software Engineering to join our team to support the USAF Test Pilot School (USAF TPS) at Edwards Air Force Base in California. The USAF TPS is where the Air Force’s top pilots, navigators, and engineers are trained to conduct flight tests and generate the data needed to carry out test missions of America’s current and future military aircraft and airborne systems. Calspan has had a full-time staff at Edwards Air Force base since 2000 and operates the Variable stability In-flight Simulator Test Aircraft (VISTA) NF-16 aircraft and variable stability Learjets for the Test Pilot School. Duties would include maintaining and developing a flight simulation laboratory, in-flight curriculum support, and testing / developing experimental flight software for our experimental aircraft.
